Warming Up The Artist, video, 1:29
This video-performance deals with the issue of the artist entering the areas he/she has fought against and leaving the radical artistic positions that defined him/her.
The idea for the work stems from an attempt to contact Marina Abramović by e-mail, attending her lecture that preceded the exhibition at MOMA, appearing in her film The Artist is Present and meeting her former partner Ulay.
After ‘meeting’ the artist I eventually ‘warm up’ the artist by rubbing her ears.
The performance was realised in collaboration with Milica Marx.
